Headed to World Youth Day

Students from Our Lady of Mount Carmel SOLT Parish in Belize are headed for World Youth Day

This coming August, fourteen students accompanied by their pastor, Fr. Mark Wendling, will journey to Madrid, Spain for World Youth Day. Moreover, these intrepid pilgrims will continue their spiritual odyssey with stops at Lourdes, Rome and Assisi.

The students have been working hard fundraising for the trip but are also preparing spiritually with a camping retreat and monthly "spiritual social nights."  These consist of Mass, adoration, praise and worship, and then a social hour with games, team activities and talks.

If you are interested in helping send a teen on a once-in-a-lifetime faith-filled experience, please make the note For Belize World Youth Day on your check or donate online at www.societyofourlady.net.  Click here to read more about our mission in Belize.

Young Adults in Robstown, Texas from SOLT Lay Families are headed to World Youth Day

Close-knit friendships of our SOLT Lay families' youth in Robstown have led to a trip to World Youth Day together this summer with Fr. Scott Giuliani. They are also planning to visit Fatima and walk 100 km of the Camino de Santiago, an ancient Catholic pilgrimage in Spain.

In addition to their normal volunteer activities for Our Lady's Society and the local church, these out- standing young adults have been also fundraising for their pilgrimage with garage sales and sponsorships.
