The Feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity

At the parish of Nuestra Señora del Refugio, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, the day before the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, will be a very special day.

That day there will be a festival in the whole parish, with music and dance and food and all the things which normally adorn the grand Mexican fiestas which show that the day is different from other days of the year.  Every year at the parish there are usually over 300 first communions, but on this day there will be 95 first holy communions in the parish at the chapel consecrated in honor of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity within a special patronal feast day Mass.

This is the day that Fr Antoñio Anderson, SOLT, is proposing to be named as the Feast day of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity, not just for the parish but for the Church Universal.  In the Church's year, every Saturday is celebrated as a memorial of Our Lady.  This is because Mary prepares us for Jesus.  Saturday is a day which prepares us for Sunday.  Mary shows us how to worship the Trinity.  So the Saturday before the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity would be the most appropriate day for the feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity.

For the entire SOLT community around the world, this day is celebrated with special love and devotion.  That evening there is an all night vigil in adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament.  May the prayers and love of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity intercede for the Church.
