On May 2nd of this year at Albay Cathedral, two SOLT deacons were ordained priests and 3 brothers were ordained Deacons. The ordaining prelate was his excellency, Most Reverend Jose Rojas, Jr. D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Libmanan. Bishop Joel Bylon of Legazpi Diocese concelebrated. Also in attendance was Fr Peter Marsalek, SOLT General Priest Servant. Then new priests are:
Fr Andrew De Vera, SOLT, who will be serving as the Regional Procurator for Asia Pacific
Fr Ryan Real, SOLT, who will be the new parochial vicar at St Vincent Ferrer Parish in Maangas, Camarines Sur, Philippines
The three new deacons were the same men who made their perpetual profession the day before. This was so that their families could attend both events, who had a long distance to travel, and also so that the General Council could be at both events as well. They are:
Deacon Eddison Belga, Deacon James Castillo, and Deacon Ryan Bores.
We are very grateful to God for the gift of these vocations. Please pray for these men that they may grow in the grace of ordination, and that they can answer the call to holiness to serve in the Church as Jesus serves.
